Sub Zero Ice Skate - Major Cineplex

You can dump , I mean let your kids enjoy spending the entire day skating here. There are lockers , washrooms , food and water they can purchase , seating space for them to lounge or watch other kids at it but to me, the most important criteria is clean skates, unlike one horrifying place back home. By evening, the place is transformed into a skating disco complete with loud music, so teens especially, they will love this . Does the penguin look familiar ? They're probably the same operator as the one in Mutiara Damansara. Surprise, surprise. Rates almost similar too.

Now, say you've been to the rink in Pathumwan district, this one's different. It doesn't feel so upmarket yet there are groups of Thai skate mommies eagerly watching their half farang kids every move during training sessions. The training rink is separated from the fun disco skating zone. Obviously they take this very seriously.
If the list of coaches are anything to go by, well this is impressive. They've managed to carve a living from ice skating in sunny dusty Bangkok.
Professional ice hockey and figure skating coaches  for hire from around 1000 baht per hour

While they're kept busy, you can both go catch a movie at the adjoining Major Cineplex

Unbelievable place, which looks more like a hotel lobby than a cinema . Ground floor not so the case.

Was really fascinated with this E-ticket panel

Should you find a Major Cinema outlet near you, just watch how the staff uses this swiftly.

Ah, goodie there's a Jeffer Steak on the same floor !
In fact there are quite some varied dining options here like an MBK steamboat to a pizza place just one floor below the cinema

Alas, this was the same case as Pepper Lunch in Central. Pepper Lunch in Chamchuri Square was damned good but Central's was plain ugh .
Likewise, this Jeffer Steak simply could not match up to the outlet in Silom . Bad enough, the seating is very limited, the meat was burnt badly .

Same thing repeated itself at the Mc Donald's on the ground floor , compared to the very good fried chicken we had in Big C Sukhumvit, this did not make the cut. Mediocre chicken in smaller sizes. Not recommended .

As eating is our national sport, we move on to the Ham & Egg pie. Don't do it. The crust is sweet. Same as the one they use for the Apple Pie. Me , I love the Apple Pie but I hate this.
Once is enough

Fortunately depending on how you see this , we busied  ourselves with the free wifi. Ah yes, we are so progressive, the kids get annoyed with our usage. Anyway, each receipt entitles one device to the free wifi. Username and password generated at the bottom of the receipt. Thus, if 2 of you need to surf, you'll need two.
Went on for a bit until a muscular guy sat next to us . Then a lady showed up and heck the way he was going about it, made me feel uncomfortable. He only stopped upon realising that I spoke Manglish. Thanks to some infamous online guide, lots of  Singaporean guys are here to hook  up with the local Thai ladies via dating sites . Not staying on in case I hear anymore things I want to forget.

Going out to do a spot of exploring outside the complex.
These flowers are sold at the entrance to a temple.
We U turned back then used an unnervingly quiet overhead pedestrian bridge to get to the other side of the road.

Location : Major Cineplex near Ekkamai BTS
