Kuala Sepetang Fish Village Restaurant - estuary shrimps and baby crabs

Seeing how the sun was blazing , and this outlet was air conditioned , we asked around if the food in this particular restaurant was good .

When two eyebrows shoot upwards in unison , with a nod of the head ,
it goes without saying that , what they whip up here must indeed be delicious .

Yet , when we opened the tinted doors ...lo and behold , we weren't prepared to see this many diners . Wasn't even noon , and yet it was almost full house !

Just as well that they stuffed us in the back near the food window since we had a good view of all the amazing array of dishes coming out from the kitchen .
Claypot porridge , mantis prawns in dark sauce , flower crabs with garlic and spring onions .... food churned out non stop from the time we sat down till the time we left !

What we ordered .
Shrimp curry served in a roti bowl , stir fried yau mak vegie with garlic , deep fried baby crabs as well as ....

...a tofu they produced themselves cooked with shelled prawns , 2 types of canned mushrooms and carrot slices .

Curry has a unique flavour and twang of its own ,which is best enjoyed with white rice in order to fully bring out the rich flavours of the coconut milk and the  robust spices .
Extremely hot , I suckled on the first shrimp head and went straight to heaven .
That was unexpected .
So , so , so creamy and so darned good , these transparent shelled , estuary shrimps are the reason why locals are willing to trek through the dark roads for what I can describe as one hell of an amazing feast all by itself . Take note however , that compared to the creamy orgasmic underside of the shrimp head , the body is rather mild .

Roti bread has a deep crater aluminium foil lining . Soft on the inside and lightly crisp on the thin top crust , this is like a giant sweet mantou you will be so tempted to pinch a hole in , even though that will put a dent in the overall puffy look .
Lost count of the number of shrimps in here , we're thinking there were a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 15 inside .
As an indication of just how big the bread opening is , check out the soup ladle just next to it .
Almost the same size. Now compare that to the rest of the body .

Total damage : 82 ringgit inclusive of rice and drinks . The roti alone cost 42 ringgit .

Will we return ? : yes of course

Taste : I dare say anytime way better than most seafood restaurants in Bukit Tambun

Location : Kuala Sepetang , Perak
