Shell Heritage collectible canisters

Since it is their 125th birthday , Shell Malaysia has come up with commemorative collectible tins to mark the occasion !
And if you've been following my postings , you'll know I really love all those tin and metal containers and stuff.... so this is such wonderful news to me !

Believe me when I say I tried to ignore this but failed . Faile- ed .

Meet Week 1 ...the roaring 1920's .

Larger canister tin depicts a Shell station from  1920 with a mention on Foch Avenue ;
whereas the smaller canister replicates a pump from that period .

Inside each canister , one should find either a magnet or a keyring .
Keyring in the smaller , magnet inside the larger container .

Update : Week 2 - 1950's

Very detailed . Certainly the most stunning of the lot .

Update : Fastracked to Week 5 on the third week

Right , after going around , I found one petrol station owner who was willing to sell me the Shell Heritage Collection Tanker . Thus instead of getting the two Week 3 canisters , I got the tanker meant for Week 5 .

Honestly expected the tin to be larger . Rather cute though .
There's also a small and fluffy hand towel inside which I will try to show you in the first 2 pictures . Embroidered logo is gorgeous btw .

Details near the license plates states that it is an official licensed product under TSBA Group based in London .

Week 3 : 1960s
( By now , some stores have run out of the small canister priced at MYR 7.90 )

Indeed the most detailed and what I consider the most beautiful of the lot , here is Week 3's large canister .

Front view with magnet in the foreground .

Side view .
I'm just marvelling at the artwork done . Gorgeous !

Update : 1960 ' s small canister

Ok , this makes the entire 1960's collection a real eye popper .
Insane attention to details , some of which looks so 3 D.

Closer look of the keyring with the 1960's logo .

1980 ' s - Large Canister

You can still find station stores that look exactly like this in Penang today .
Well at least now I know roughly how long ago they date back to .

Now all that's left is the small 80's canister .

Update : 1980's small canister

There finally completed

All in , there are 4 large station canister tins, 1 large oil tanker tin  ( final week ) ,  4 mini pump canister tins , and 3 oil kit tins for you to pursue .
That's 12 tins all in .

Sounds complicated ? Not really , lemme explain it to ya in simpler terms .
Every MYR 40 worth of petrol you buy , allows you to purchase one large canister tin .
While purchases worth MYR 6 from the petrol convenience store lets you purchase the mini canister tins .
Purchase Shell lubricants , if you're keen on the oil kit tins .

Just so you know what you're in for , this is a 5 week promo with one different model for each separate pwp items each week .

* do note that most of the hostile feedback is from resellers and Lego toy collectors who are still sore over the end of the partnership with Lego .
