Foong Yean - 6 course feast

Best to make a booking before you arrive , as even though the restaurant is not that large , yet this venue is extremely popular due to the remarkable prices and generous portions .

Without further ado , I'm gonna plunge right in and introduce you to the items we picked off the menu .
Take note that all these cost us just 200 ringgit , rice and Chinese tea included .

First up , Indonesian prawns .
Tried this at another place near Bukit Jambul ( they've since shifted to Lembah Permai area ) and I absolutely hated that . However , this is so heavenly , you'll want to suck the roe , inside of the heads and the shell dry of the divinely spicy curry sauce , I'm afraid I'll have to give this a 5 star for amazing freshness ( the meat is packed so tight ! ) and fabulous taste !

Tofu with crab meat .
The tofu is so tender , smooth and unforgettably yummy that I instantly regretted not ordering a larger portion !
Highly recommended .

Can't remember the exact name of this dish , but it's filled with super luxurious ingredients such as sea cucumber , dried oyster , scallops , shitake mushrooms etc .
Quite good . Eating this for health purposes as all these ingredients are ultra nourishing .

Belacan fried chicken .
Actually wanted the other fried chicken but it was sold out , so we had to settle for this .
Probably won't repeat it again , as this is something we can get everywhere else , plus the taste is not that outstanding compared to the earlier dishes .

Last item .
Yam basket .
Frankly , I didn't like this but the others did , so maybe I'm a bit more fussy and demanding when it comes to this item .
Found the yam a bit too soggy and the prawns surprisingly not to my liking either .

Anyway you look at it , this is a great place for entertaining and impressing guests and best of all , the price is what I dare say , for restaurant standard , the best deal in town .

Location : Bayan Baru , Penang
