Window shopping at Westfield Stratford

You can put this place on top of your must visit list.

Felt as if the whole of London was having a ball in this very large, current and happening shopping complex

One could feel the spirit of the games immediately. Every shop window carried their own take on the Olympic theme

Shirts literally flew off the shelf . The most expensive ones, especially the official Team Britain athletic shirts were impossible to find anymore.

This display pretty much sums up how hot Olympic themed merchandise was in here

Aha ! Something in this window has caught my eye

It's a solar queen doing the royal wave !

Hilarious ! Are their royals sporting or what ?

Massive Apple store ....

...even drew in these 3 soldiers

Patriotic and supportive of their own team, this kids luggage bag is dedicated to Team GB

Flags and tea features at the Lakeland store 2 levels up

Evergreen bestsellers these

Found these DIY bears at the basement

Waiting to be picked, stuffed and dressed with plenty of cash on the side of course!
(Think there was a store similar to this in Debenhams KL but I'm not sure if it's still around today)

Location : Westfield Stratford City, East London

People watching at Westfield Stratford City

Ultimately, the mall drew some interesting characters here.
Some were game enough to pose with countless people just for the fun of it

Others were more coy yet impossible to miss

We were on the same train as this reporter.
No idea who she was interviewing, but they did two takes before I got bored and wandered off

Smack into a tin soldier who's still in marching mode.

East Londoner and bobbies side by side.
Always fascinating

New York cab converted into a diner table
got grandma and her brood all excited

Souvenir hunting at John Lewis

John Lewis' biggest asset is the fact that it has some of the friendliest staff around who take real pride in their work .

It's also one of the best stocked souvenir shops

Things literally flew off the shelf . I had a hard time looking for kids apparel.

This part had interesting items for the home or to don at the park

The soft toys came in all sizes and were mighty hard to resist

What I ended up buying.
A Panasonic memory card

Which surprisingly, was comparable to Malaysian prices

Having travelled quite a bit, I'm kinda wary about souvenirs that will gather dust in the cupboard.
Settled for a mug and a badminton coin momento.

Spotted this amazing Lego stadium on my way out

So much work !

One floor down, I was again tempted.

Fled before I could entertain seconds thoughts

Soaking up the atmosphere outside Westfield Stratford

We've just come out from the Stratford City tube station

Should we take this lift straight up to the John Lewis store ?

Trying to get our bearings right just like this lady here

Volunteers use a loudspeaker to try to shepherd us lost ones in the right direction

Don't go this way

So tempted to walk into the store

Yet I continue forward

Oh....so that's what the entrance to the Olympic Park looks like

Should I carry on ?

Nah....turning back towards the main entrance now

Holborn station To Stratford City

We started early from Gloucester Station and got off to change trains at Holborn station. If you have a fear of heights, just cling on tightly and don't look up or back, when you come to these dizzying escalators

By the time we came to this landing my legs had turned to jelly already

Turned left into this corridor towards Central line

Walla..all we have to do is wait now

Which isn't long really as trains are fast and smooth flowing without any hiccups

Public announcement service in the flesh

Many, many stops later, this is where we get off

There are two exits but due to crowd control purposes , we were asked to head over this way

Came across this intercity train on our left

Made our way down these steps

Somehow everyone seemed to want to pose for pictures against this mosaic wall

Up we go again.

Almost there

There's the exit up ahead
Simple as that
