At The Pantheon

Built by Hadrian in A.D.118, it started out as a temple dedicated to all the gods of pagan Rome. After Emperor Phocas gave it to Pope Boniface VIII in A.D. 608, it's been a church ever since.
Best of all, we passed by this ancient building on a daily basis, as it lay just round the corner from our hotel .
Amazing amazing amazing.

Well, this is Rome in a nutshell for you. Full of tourists everywhere you turn. Throw a shuttlecock and you will surely hit a tourist.
Wait a minute is that a selfie stick ????
Some people have finally caught up. Lol.

Muah the penguin trying to get my cameraman to cram in 2 gladiators into the picture . It's drizzling and that makes it a perfect time to check if the rumour about the Pantheon is true or not.

They're preparing for evening mass as we saunter in. Other tourists who followed soon after had to wait for service to finish.

This is the oculus .
While it is said that rain never falls here, I couldn't check if the legend is true, since they cordoned off the floor space .

I'm a wandering tourist, not the history buff nor tomb seeker. So although 2 kings and Raphael the painter, not the teenage mutant ninja turtle , are buried here, plus the mass is about to begin, we're going to join the crowd and just soak in the atmosphere outside, at Piazza della Rotonda.

Location : Rome, Italy
