Massage prices in Bangkok

For crying out loud....
see how much a one hour Thai massage costs in Bangkok ?
You'll be crazy not to get one.
25 ringgit for One whole hour !

On the other hand, you might be crazy agreeing to one also, seeing how , they like to press the life out of you.
Not satisfied until your spine actually snaps loudly .

Chao Phraya river cruise- Long Tail it was

At first, we weren't too keen on taking this river rodeo jalopy, especially since the waterway looked terribly choppy.

However, one look at the overloaded, overcrowded, Tourist Boat, made us change our mind.

BTS - Bangkok's Sky Train system

The BTS connects all the famous shopping districts in one big loop.
See the left hand side of this photo below ? That's a station located near Siam Paragon

Because it's perched up to a height of 30 metres , it's also better known as the Sky Train.
For most travelers, it offers a really comfortable way of seeing the city skyline, without getting ripped off by a cabbie or tuk tuk driver.

Pepper Lunch - Chamchuri Square ( NH )

I've never seen so many Leng Chai and Leng Lui's per square metre elsewhere before other than in Chamchuri Square .
These kids in uniform , are so pretty, so beautiful,so suave and sooo handsome, you'll feel as if you just walked into an advertisement set for toothpaste, facial wash and haircare !

Actually, it was the smell coming from the outlet that made me cave in . How to resist, when it made my stomach growl so loud ?
I've not been to the outlets in KL, yet , I could not stand it one minute longer and proceeded to place my order at the counter.

Jeffer Steak - Silom Complex ( NH )

The Thai beef cuts, sold at Jeffer Steak are so popular amongst the locals ,
that by the time we arrived for dinner, they'd all been sold out.
Hence , we decided to try out the other meats.

We start with a jug of Pepsi, since it's much cheaper than ordering individual glasses.
Comes with more gas and is sweeter than back home in Malaysia.
See the gas bubbles on the side ? Burps aplenty !

Wat Trai Mit - Golden Buddha

If you're contemplating not climbing up these stairs,
you really don't know what you're missing

The 13th century Golden Buddha, Wat Trai Mit's main draw, is worth
a mind boggling 20 million dollars !
Times 4 to get the MYR equivalent.

Wat Trai Mit - on temple grounds

The first time I saw this, my jaw literally dropped.
It's so small yet incredibly grand.
You're seeing exactly what I saw, as I stood outside the gate to the temple

As we walked in, I wanna kick myself for coming to this city so many times over the years, yet only discovering this today.
Just stunning !

Monkey God Temple - Bangkok Chinatown

Well, well, what do you know.
I'm beginning to like Chinatown very much for all the little surprises that are cropping up here and there

The statuettes are really beautiful .
Temple small but very well kept .
A constant stream of devotees makes it frustrating, trying to get a shot from outside.

Juicy Roast Duck in Bangkok Chinatown

You can talk to them in Cantonese in this very busy shop.
If there's a young man around ( I presume,he's the owner's son) you may converse in English or request for the English menu from him, if you like.

However, although the dimsum, noodles, seafood and pastries are a hit among the locals, I'm left scratching my head. The recipes are really Bo ngam .... don't like any of it .
Hope that explains the lack of pics. Nothing pisses me off more than having to stomach awful food.

On the other hand their roast duck, is really, really good.

River City chihuahuas

We were here waiting for our long tail boat ride, when this little fella with perked up ears caught my eye

Awww.....would you have known there were 2 of them ?
Cuteness overload !

Koay Teow Thng - Bangkok chinatown style

You can speak in Hokkien to the proprietor here.

They seem to love using kangkong here in Bangkok

Rama 1 Road's awesome elevated pedestrian walkway

Rama 1 Road, is like Jalan Bukit Bintang in Malaysia,
only better, as the major shopping centres are linked via a series of clean, airy, elevated pedestrian walkways .

This map from Bangkokbob.net ( a defunct site ) simplifies everything in a nutshell.
I'll show you how it's possible to walk on foot from Erawan to MBK Plaza in half an hour or less.

Outback Steakhouse ( NH ) - Siam Discovery

As the kids were up in the ice skating rink,
we headed downstairs for a bite.

 Bread comes served this way,
with some soft and creamy butter rolls on the side.

Oishi Grand Buffet - 3 hours to feast

After the one hour wait , everyone, and I mean everyone ! went craaaaazyyy, emptying the super popular, super fresh sashimi counter, of fish that is so tender, firm, glossy, thick, moist, goooood !
If you're not a fan of raw fish, it's because what you've been eating so far, has leaked blood and therefore smells.
What they have at Oishi is just a notch below those offered around the Tokyo fish market, which is sweet, succulent and pleasant to the bite.
Absolutely must try !

Round the corner ..... tuna !
Next to more salmon covered in so much roe, you'll wonder why you ever bothered to eat elsewhere after this experience!

Oishi Grand Buffet , Siam Discovery ( 1 hour wait )

We stumbled upon this place by chance.
What got our attention was the long line of diners waiting to get in which is quite a rare sight in Bangkok.

Wanted to be part of the action.
Ended up at the entrance only to be told that the waiting time would be ONE hour.
