Speculating on Bond's Spectre - Rome shooting location

Even before a dollar of the $60 million allocated to Rome alone is spent, I was busy getting all speculative and presumptous. Making our way up to this top landing we set out in search of the speculated Bond trail which is rumoured to have something to do with Via delle Quattro Fontane .  

The obelisk at the top of the Spanish Steps is known as the Sallustiano Obelisk or the Trinità dei Monti Obelisk 

To get to Via delle Quattro Fontane, you'll have to take this road called Via Sistina where a row of posh hotels are located  

Walking along Via Sistina, I understood why.

There's another obelisk at the far end and as you get closer to the start of Via delle Fontane, there's a slight depression downhill before it goes uphill, yet at all times, the car ( if there is going to be a chase scene ) will be visible as the middle where Piazza Barberini is actually, is not too sunken that it will be too challenging to film. Exciting yes. One helluva exhilirating chase it will be should this location be the one . 

Plus this quarter is quite old. Not to mention complete with very narrow streets . Just perfect . Just like how the oldest corners of Istanbul were chosen to give that exotic spy thriller edge to the movie.

Do you see what I mean ? This may be highly speculative but to me it does makes sense . 

Then he quipped 

" who knows....instead of a chase scene , Bond might be holed up in one of these buildings " 

Food for thought

By the time we get to the halfway point , it starts to drizzle. 

No sooner than we take another few more steps, it begins to pour. We take shelter for a bit and then he starts grumbling on how after all it isn't even confirmed it's on the cards yet bla bla bla

My white flag goes up ...with a condition  . Only if we reach the Galleria Nazionale d' arte Antica first. Then we'll make a turn back.

Seems some Bond fans were stalking the location scouts instagram accounts and the statues here turned up. They could be wrong, I could be wrong but who cares

If you ask me, this could be another possible location. 

Well whatever it is, even though we did not complete the hunt all the way down to the Esquilino Obelisk as intended. That's the downside to a travel partner. Sometimes we don't always get to do what we planned.
