Scallop - Q - Gurney Plaza ( PF )

Had my first taste of Hokkaido scallops while in Japan....omg, while that was a revelation, it just doesn't taste the same outside of the country.

Still, let's try this Taiwan franchise out today.
Besides the very attractive kiosk, the owner's bubbly face is one of the draw factors.

Check out the prices.
At $5.80 per stick, it's definitely cheaper than other street vendors in Taiwan itself.

Next, the boggling range of flavours.
Hmmm....settle for the Bonito

Though considerably costly, there's something about Taiwanese street food that makes it intriguing and fun. Just can't put my finger on it.
Even this foreign worker is infected by the boss' constant smiling face. He's not only friendly, he's a little crazy once you start chatting him up...haha.
Doesn't show on the photo though.

Close up on how the grilling is done.
Much like satay.

In the end...this is what you get for your $5.80

Taste ?
Er....Taiwanese...not Japanese if you get my drift.
Hokkaido scallops, you have to eat in Japan itself.
Or the taste will be different.
Still, no complaints about freshness.

Location : Gurney Plaza, Basement

Directions : near Purple Cane Tea Art, behind Shihlin kiosk
