Chinese vegetarian congee breakfast in Seoul

Totally vegetarian meal and oily by Korean standards, the whole bunch of us tucked into this meal and relished it wholeheartedly .

The mantou buns were soft little pillows, the omelette resembled my own recipe, the cabbage sweet and crunchy like hubby's version, while the mushrooms and gluten dish added variety to the entire ensemble.

This down here, is the mushroom in season.
You see more of the fat stalks than the caps.

The congee here, is thicker and starchier than what we are used to, still in cold weather such as this, everyone went for second helpings.

Funny thing , seeing how simple and humble this meal is, was the journey we took to get here from Ramada

Across flyovers.....

  ...past rivers...

  ...bridges....

....this cluster of buildings....

...was beginning to wonder if we'd ever have breakfast.... Finally, we hit the pavement...

Before having to queue up just to enter the tiny cubicle of a lift up a few floors to where the restaurant lay
