Zakaria Laksa Teluk Kechai ( U )

The shop lies along a busy main road.

A constant stream of visitors, who park their car alongside, make this place, highly visible to the curious, who might not know about their existence.

What their laksa version looks like. Orange blob on the side, made from pounded chillies and grated coconut..

You're supposed to mix the orange blob into the soup till it looks something like this.
It's my first try and what I can tell you is, that, this dish, is an acquired taste.

Their noodles are highly reputed amongst the Malay community, as they're freshly made from ground rice ( others use flour nowadays ) with no chemicals added whatsoever

If you're still hungry, you can gorge on these tempting morsels of banana leaf wrapped kuihs, that grace each table

Finely crafted from glutinous rice and floss
( serunding ) , they cost just 50 sen per piece !

50 sen price tag seems to be the norm in these parts, as that's how much one stick of satay sold by another vendor here, costs also !

Location : Jalan Kuala Kedah, Alor Setar
