When Darlie launched their Mickey Mouse mug and plate series, Penangites wiped out the shelves.
Today, they even offer glass cookies jar with the Darlie logo printed on it, but half the trick is, finding the right store, offering the corresponding gift pack , sporting the sticker that shows the eventual gift that you want .
And this was exactly what I was looking for....
Needed this because a day earlier, I'd purchased some kimchi from my local Korean grocer in Penang and I really wanted to transfer them out of the cheap disposable plasticware they were in , into something better.
If I had bought those air tight glass tupperwares that had rubber around the sides, I knew that sooner of later, the whole thing would be condemned. The rubber would smell and gosh, I'd be so heartsick. Besides, it costs between RM $30 for a stack of airtight tupperwares to RM $56 for 2 ( one large, one small ) in glass version. Glass bowls are cheap, but it's not easy finding matching lids.
Compare that to this offer.
One twin pack costs RM $ 15. Two RM $ 30. Definitely a win win situation in this case for us customers.
To top it off, the lids, even have an arrow, with a white dial, for you to turn, and show what date you put it into the fridge.
Smart !
There, they're both sitting nicely in the fridge already .
While this was a necessary purchase on my part, I'm not too sure when it was introduced into the market. So far, I've only seen two colours, no idea if there's more since Darlie freebies move like hotcakes !
