Ever wondered what a Turkish breakfast looks like?
Well for one, it's got succulent zucchinis and lotsa juicy ripe tomatoes on the menu. Together with cheeses, jams, hams and yogurts.
They consume a lot of olives, around ten pieces per person hence the 3 varieties in the corner. There's grilled bittergourds (delicious!) brinjals and even chillies , devilled eggs, shredded carrots, beets, cucumber with yogurt.
So yeah, basically, if you choose your hotel well, you'll get to enjoy a nice spread. Where I stayed there were 4 varieties of breads, freshly baked cake, apricots and hard boiled eggs on the top shelf.
The sausages here are of the spicy kind, called Suju, cooked in herbs and tomato paste. Then the pastry on the inner side (Sigara Boregi) is sort of like a salty popiah stuffed with feta cheese and vegies.
Beverages : instant tea and coffee. Really powerful rose hip tea, 2 spoons is already very sweet. Check out the Apple tea.
Fruits come complete with the bestest most sharpest fruit knives I've ever used in my life. Much preferred the small oranges. Exceptionally juicy and sweet !
We're almost done, hang in there.
Cherry juice and Orange juice. Hot milk AND cold milk too .
So, this is what I ended up with. The omelette came out last.
His choice.
But then again, since this was my first attempt, in the days to follow, I did try to enjoy a typical breakie in their style.
