What the State of Emergency in Bangkok looked like

With a State of Emergency declared, you'd expect everyone to be cowering indoors right ? Not . Not in Bangkok.

Streets became one big outdoor street fair

Festivities carried on as usual. Firecrackers were let off too though the effect proved to be unnerving.

Schools remained open and students even went about their daily activities with barely any restrictions

Celebrity spotting became much less ardous a task.
Came face to face with a few at the launch of Garrett Popcorn in Siam Paragon

Watched Pongpat's rare live performance

Together with people of all ages, in some cases, the whole family from grandmother to granchild

People were getting 150 baht massages right by the roadside

At night, artists came out of their slumber

Cheap and tasty street food was everywhere

Prices were much lower than usual. Bargains aplenty.
Jams and queues at a minimal.
Had a great time as usual, but then again as I mentioned before, I'm not a greenhorn in the city. So if you're regretting not going ahead with your trip, nope, you shouldn't if it's your first time or you're still unfamiliar with the city layout.
