Backyard of Karakoy

We got off the tram and went across the road into Karakoy

Obviously my type is a rarity in these parts.
That's a carwash with a passerby not knowing what to make of my presence in the area.
This is not Sultanahmet , the area has a reputation after dusk and that's why I've decided to explore a little bit in broad daylight

What building is this ? Some govt office or museum perhaps ?

Omg....no. It's another ornately beautiful police station that doesn't even look like a police station to me .

Next door lies the Fransiz Gecidi Is Merkezi or French Gateway Business Centre.

While the gates are quite ornate, perhaps the whole place comes alive at night ? There was a hip looking coffee place, one supermart, hairdresser and gosh I don't recall what else.

If you're looking for a little more life, try the other street where new boutique hotels and hip little cafes are springing up.There's one major hotel chain coming up here but there's so much dusty renovation going on, the area just doesn't appeal to the tourist in me to go explore further. Plus it's creepily quiet, with a vibe that doesn't quite feel right. We quickened our pace, headed in the direction of Namli Gurme , then towards the line of fishermen by the ferry terminal.

Location : Karakoy, Istanbul
