This outlet has created such a stir even amongst the local hawking community, that I heard one of them walk up to the counter staff demanding to know
" Lu macam mana untung ah ?"
" how on earth do you even make a profit ?"
Yes, even for Penang, the prices and portion served here are soooooo ridiculously low priced.
See the ikan pari bakar , the other day , I just had a set in Aeon for RM10.50 . It's RM 6.50 here. The Iced Milo in Aeon was RM3 , but it's only RM1 here ! Crazy !
This used to be the sad old foodcourt which nobody but a few staff wanted to eat in. But now look at the amazing transformation !
Find ourselves a seat near the bowling lanes , leave one person to look after our belongings then head back to wait for our order.
It's self service.
Good airconditioning. Comfy seats.
Clean. With wifi .
Plus all this ( that's 3 iced Milo down there) for RM14 only ?
Incredibly unbelievable.
If not for the questionable characters milling around, this place would be no different from All Star Lanes at Westfield Stratford City in London.
My order.
Plain nasi lemak with half an egg, anchovy sambal, lots of peanuts.
RM2.
This simple dish is remarkable because the chef is a Bangla trained by a Malay obviously, because we Chinese simply cannot cook this type of Nasi Lemak. Who says the Bangla can't cook our local dishes ? The ones here are I dare say, better than a lot of our local hotel sous chefs.
Very fluffy. Big portion. Good sambal. Fried peanuts that have not gone rancid. What a relief .
Nasi goreng Special. One egg, one chicken wing.
The wing crust is a bit too hard....otherwise a very filling hot rice meal.
Nasi Goreng Cina.
Found 4 decent prawns inside that don't smell rotten ( yes it's a huge problem in Penang ) with sweetcorn and carrot cubes. Not bad.
Would I return ? Yes, if I'm in the vicinity.
Location : Prangin Mall , cinema floor anex building.
