No thanks to a news report from a couple of years back, most Malaysian Chinese have been shunning teflon and aluminium cookware. That's part of the reason why our community has not been besoted by the whole Happy Call magicpan episode.
I suppose Tefal Malaysia is quite aware
of it's customers concerns and that is why this range called So Tasty has really been moving faster than even newly introduced ceramic coated pans.
Doesn't matter if the base is an aluminium mix. So long as the interior is stainless steel. That's pretty important a criteria to me. Cast iron cookware out of the question. Don't know two hoots about how to maintain it.
Was actually hoping that the high quality Zebra brand from Thailand would display some frying pans in the kitchen section. Pots yes, pans no. No such thing here. Plenty of lower quality so called stainless steel cookware from China though, but frankly, I won't buy those. Smells awful and rusty when washed . Japanese brands are a bit too expensive here. Korean ones....hmmm....not keen.
Anyway what sealed the purchase was the store's mistake.
See, the label says 26cm but the actual product was 28cm.
Weight was a dead giveaway. Quick trip to the price checker confirmed it. Of course I wasted no time in paying up.
Where you can get this from :
Lazada.com.my currently has a sale going on for Tefal cookwares. Much cheaper than retail stores but I got cash vouchers so not a problem for me.
