Pastificio - room standing picnic with pasta on styrofoam plates

Amazing scenes greet you, once you locate this pasta shop.  Your first clue will be people standing round street corners eating pasta from white styrofoam plates.
People used to take their plates over to the Spanish Steps to enjoy. Now, you are not allowed to do that. That makes the shop easier to find.

Once inside, there is an unspoken order of how things run here. Queue is on one side, exit and standing diners ...on the other side. You stand in very close quarters to each other and should you find a space to eat between the shelves of pasta, yes between the shelves, it will be elbow room only.

By the time we got to the front, we discovered that pasta here comes in two versions.
Pork and No Pork.
The stern looking server sure looks South American to me.

The pork one ( my choice ) had tiny bits of bacon pieces .
Saltier than most places but I really liked it.

The non pork on the other hand was really spicy !
You will need water on standby for this one.

While I finished mine in record time , he struggled with the spiciness. Yeah he can handle tomyum but he can't handle this lol. In the end, as it was getting really, really claustrophobic inside, we headed out to sit down on the pavement after another couple had vacated that space .

Wasn't the best place as the dustbin was just next to us and a handyman was hammering some frame.....however it was a good place to observe the amusing human activity buzzing around the bustling shop.

Would I recommend this place ? Sure why not ?
After all, this place built its fame on their €4 pasta. The experience itself is something to remember.

Location : Via della Croce, Rome
