Restoran Xin Xiang Gang - Kuala Lukut

This is one of those hut like village places where you have to remove the doors panel by panel and put them back when you close for the day. Easy to spot , just look for the shop with the most women servers

Anyway, other than that very humble but exceptional Kiam chai with tomatoes and handmade fishball soup above , there were some misses . Overall extremely filling meal with a price that is quite reasonable to me that is. Not sure about others.

In case you are new to this, the hot water is provided in a plastic dish so you can dip utensils and bowls in before you eat. The ice is for you to add it into your drink.

Moving on.
Fried rice.
No. I don't like this one bit.
Chopped garlic and bird's eye chillies behind that. Eat the garlic raw or add soy sauce to it.

Potato leaf vegetable dish. Easily grown , we requested for it to be fried with belacan instead of plain.
Take my advice. Go for the plain ching chau. Ought to taste better .

Steamed Fei Chau Fish .
Egad.....what did we order ? It turned out spicy ? Slightly sour, thankfully it tastes better than it looks though. Obviously places like these aren't big on presentation.
Size is more important and this was one heck of a massive pond bred fish ! There seemed to be no end to the meat.
Say your prayers. That's the thing about Chinese New Villages, and in a way it sort of endeared me to this shop.
Somewhat like going into someone's home and staying on for a hearty meal .

Total damage : RM71

Will return if I'm in town.

Location : Medan Selera Kuala Lukut
( opposite the only Giant hypermart in Lukut )
