It's the Chinese New Year and all the great shopping complexes in Bangkok will feature dragons every few years.
Highly regarded by the Chinese, so far, from where I'm standing it looks promising
Moving up to get a better look. Take note of the big white balloon, it's supposed to represent a pearl which drives the dragon half mad in trying to own it. Much like you teasing the cat with a feather on the end of a string.
That's the BTS station directly across.
Makes for easy access .
One white kid was crying , terrified by this face . Hmmm.
From this level, it reminds me of evil vermin rather than a fierce dragon.
That's that with the dragon. From the main entrance we're gonna see the San Francisco Bridge on the other end.
Let's go up !
Moving up the escalators towards it.
Huhuhu....unbelievable. This is the reason why the shopping complexes here can give Malaysian ones a really good fight. BTW I still think ours are world class ( except for the toilets ) but as you can see, the Thais have gone all out and spared no expense. Siam Paragon is another place where your jaw will drop. They pulled out all the stops to draw shoppers in this CNY.
Look ! They even have model cars on it
Dockman pulling the ropes on San Francisco Pier.
Ok this part is funny. The ropes are connected to the bridge and he has the most thankless 24/7 job of holding it together .
Then there's the Oscar statue spanning a couple of floors
As well as the Samurai armor secured behind a glass display case.
Just in case.......
Hollywood inspired sculptures up in the cinema floor
Alfrescoes , not inside a basilica but just next to the entrance to Nike and the entrance to the loo !
Last of all , a table of offerings outside the entrance to Gourmet Market, a supermart at the basement floor.
This is not a permanent fixture. Set up just to welcome the Chinese New Year but since I found it quite amazing , you get to see 3 pics of this too .
Looks like quite a spread. Let's get nearer .
Any similarity ?
Location : Terminal 21
