Cook Idea - Chai Leng Park

Before Cook Idea came along, we were all at the mercy of one super cut throat seller hawking this dish at Kampung Benggali.
Either that or we had to take a drive down to Ipoh or KL for kai see hor fun noodles.

Those who patronise this shop frequently might not know that they have now begun to stay open till dinner for our dining convenience. Now , if that's not the best piece of news you've heard to date, I don't know what is.
Pleasant dining experience too. Cool , breezy and clean.

Taiwanese influence pops up in the drinks department.
Presenting the pumpkin and barley iced drink.
Tastes like sweet potato but I don't fancy this one bit.

Pak cham keh chicken.
Flesh is extremely tender , meat falls easily from bone , however I don't like the texture of the skin. Missing a huge layer of fat underneath .
Also I hate the dip. It's ginger plus kunyit. Big no for the dip.

Coming to the hor fun soup noodle.
RM4.10 for small and RM4.90 for the big one.

Broth this rich must have taken a few hours of boiling for the prawn shells to achieve this consistency , flavour and colour. Generous portions of chives , no more than 3 shelled prawns , shredded chicken breast meat.
Everything is just right and the more you drink , the more you can't wait to savour it to the last drop.

Prawn wanton soup .
Bit hardened where the pinch mark is. That's fine by me since you certainly won't be getting this much prawn  in a wonton elsewhere.

Verdict : true value for money meal.

Location : Chai Leng Park , Penang
