From Váci utca to Vörösmarty Square

One day it was sunny , then the next, it was cloudy even though it was supposed to be summer but it was at times, so cold it could have passed off for autumn.
Trust your travel agent when they tell you it is still cold and make sure you bring a waterproof hoodie you can use in the rain.

That's Liberty Bridge behind and it will soon be dusk so let's get a move on.
How'd I get this tanned ?

It's around 6 - 6.30 pm and the Nagy Vásárcsarnok aka Central Market Hall has closed for the day.
I'm crossing over to Fővám tér to see where this takes me.

Lots of restaurants but it's not too crowded.
Váci Utca begins here.

Turning to the left ....I let out a gasp !
Vintage car ride with suave driver included.
Woah !
Leave now and don't turn back.

The street is dotted with restaurants and souvenir shops .
Couple taking a stroll here lends a touch of romantic.

Frankly , I'm shocked at the prices of goods here.
Even though the quality is not that good but huh , I'd say it is quite steep.

Founded in 1046 this church is called Belvárosi plébániatemplom .
Elizabeth Bridge in the background.

Crowd gets a bit thicker here.

Where the statue is , there's a Moneychanger who seems to be quite popular

Wasn't really impressed with anything except for this very pretty music shop .

Thereafter , it went downhill as the area is filled with Thai massage centres.
Few of them are definitely not Thai people lemme tell you.
On top of that , some of the girls stand out in the street dressed like they were offering more than massage services alone  . Soooo....if you look Chinese , you will get very uncomfortable here and can't wait to get the hell out of this sleazy part of an otherwise touristy street.

So , so thankful to reach the end of the street.
Yeah , that's Hard Rock Cafe Budapest with t-shirt merchandise that looks like the one in Penang.
Hmmm....

Window washers at C & A .
Well , we've reached Vörösmarty Square.

Statue of the poet Mihály Vörösmarty is in the centre... surrounded by people statues

While Gerbeaud Cafe lies just beside the row of bicycles.
The lion fountain is quite new. Was formerly a well if I am not mistaken.

Note : some pics were taken on another day since I kept my camera back in after coming across those massage centres.

Sounds like you had a mixed run on this one Goh. After what you went through, what score would would you give Budapest?

I wouldn't give it a score. That wouldn't be fair. But I would go back. It is a lovely city with nice people. Just that the sleazy side is a turn of to us women on whichever city we may be in
