If you like Paragon , you will probably love EmQuartier .
To build up the excitement , before you finally come face to face with a sparkling flying dragon made of glass mosaic , you could start the way we did .
Simply get off Phrom Phong BTS , get down to the street level across EmQuartier where Emporium is and start exploring .
Upon entering , you are greeted by two golden foxes flanking a lotus pond .
Going by Japanese beliefs , these are probably symbolic guardians as well as magnets to ensure that customers always return
Take the escalators and marvel at the very tasteful yet minimalist installations
Notice that no matter how glitzy the complex seems , there's plenty of greenery around . Here , it surrounds the entire length of the lift shaft .
Even when we stumbled upon a very upmarket property launch , we noticed they gave away wicker baskets filled with edible lettuce as door gifts .
Once we reached the level where the dramatic column of lanterns was located , it turned out to be a hot spot for photo taking .
Because a lot of tourists are turned off by the luxury names associated to this shopping area , frankly , we had a field day . Was able to take this shot without too much hassle .
Now , once you see this meerkat installation , this is when things began to get artsy , hip and really quirky
How about that ?
A gigantic sparkling flying dragon suspended in mid air for a show later in the evening .
Wind was blustery and though the sun beat down hard , anyone who came face to face with this felt a sense of awe .
Accompanied by ultra chic Chinese operatic tunes , the entire feel was very dramatic and it set the tone for the myriad of international dining delights we encountered inside the EmQuartier later on .
Great place to be at . Highly recommended .
