A Daiso kitchen and cookware post

By now you're probably wondering if I work for Daiso or I'm paid by Daiso to post these up right ?
Well ...no .
But if you see me buying like more than usual , I probably know something you don't ?
Or maybe not :)
Ahah !

While this newest post covers cookware , I will have other sub posts up pretty soon . Phase of mine . Bear with me . If not , wait till I get over it lol .

1. Sesame grinder .

Some think that it only comes in brown . As you can see .... the proof is in the pudding .
Bright red . Seen another in mustard yellow . Black too .
Take note that there are a few sizes sold in the outlets ,and this is the largest .

2. Chawan mushi porcelain steamer .

For steaming savoury egg custards .

3 . White ceramic 13 cm pie dish .

A real bargain if you ask me . Shop elsewhere and you will have to cough up some really inflated prices for these .

4. Claypots .

Look out for these 2 designs of 2 completely different sizes  . They're the prettiest by far , however , it is best not to be cooked over a big fire .
Induction or gas , set it on low to prevent cracks .
There are even larger sizes available in Bangkok . You might wanna grab those when you are there .

17 cm .

19 cm

Check back for more updates .

Update # 1

Mickey Mouse rice scoop .
There's a Minnie Mouse rice scoop too with a dark dull pink coloured handle

Multipurpose plastic sushi mat . Made in Japan.
26 cm .

Update # 2

Corn peeler .
Know how hard it is to peel corn ?
Haven't put it to the test yet but it sure looks promising .

Crab and nut cracker lol .
Not funny lolz.

More crab related stuff .
Picks for pulling out meat from the pinchers . 2 sizes .
They actually come in 3 sizes but the largest one has a semi rubberised handle , something I avoid buying as it disintegrates fast .

Update # 3

Tamago pan .
A rectangular pan which is almost always available at the store .
Don't look down on the cheap price . The quality is not bad . Only thing is you have to be careful not to scratch the non stick coating

Now this one is really good .
Pot and kettle cleaner . Removes rust and build up from the inside .
I used it on my electric kettle , put in 1000 ml lukewarm water , then 1 packet of the crystalised citric acid and left it for an hour . Rinse , boil , throw away the water just to be safe and walla , no need to scrub like crazy till we end up scratching the heating plate .

Update # 4

The popular 0.7 litre oil pot .
Comes with a sitting sieve .
Rusts very easily on the outside . Regret buying this .

Until I find a better one , this nylon Takoyaki pick will have to do .
Made in Japan .

Update #  5

White enamelware .
12 cm , 14 cm , 16 cm and 18 cm .
Cheap and good alternative to pack food for those who may be sensitive to metals that leak into liquid foods .

Chocolate molds with space for a hollow suprise in the middle .
Very hot this ..always sold out , they just restocked .

Update # 6

Oven safe baking glassware with lid .
Yup still MYR 5.30 for this 310ml container

Update # 7

Pink pans !
One saucepan and a round pancake pan

Battery operated handheld mixer .
Small cafe owners get this to froth milk for your cuppa

Update # 8

Another battery operated whisk .

Update # 9

Small rubberised rolling pin .
Available in green and orange

Aluminium top container with labels that state
Sugar . Coffee . Tea .
Yes , I got all of them .

I'd like to point out that while the earlier versions were not air tight , this new batch is so vacuum like , even the resident ants have not been able to get in .

Update # 10

Twin compartment spice shaker

Glass egg holder .

Update # 11

Medium sized Stainless Steel grater . Comes with a
" Made in Japan " label .
Much as I love the lightweight aluminium feel , you must keep this dry .
Just used it to grate a kilo of young ginger and it stood up to the force and pressure quite well compared to plastic graers
