Restoran Jaya 24 Jam , Penang Road ( U )

*am giving this a U rating ( umum ) based on the fact that it has a lot of Malay customers who are staff from the nearby hotels

It's wonderful, how this non halal restaurant manages to attract a multiracial mix of clientele.

Not only that, it draws a constant stream of white foreigners, who seem to break no sweat over Jaya's hot as hell, spice laden offerings.

What acts as a magnet, is the large array of vegan and non vegan dishes,
that are constantly replenished round the clock, to keep up with demand.

Deep fried plaintains,is a gem which is such a rarity, I just had to have it.

Tastes like a cross between chettinad style bittergourd and kerepek pisang, with the saffron coloured cauliflowers in the background, providing a nice creamy contrast to offset the dryness of the bananas.

An interesting departure from the norm.

Approach with extreme caution, their bestseller, dry chicken masala, best paired off with mutton curry kuah.

Proceed only when you are dead sure,as it will set off an inextinguishable flame that will engulf you into one of the most sadistic meal experience, most Malaysians would unanimously give the 2 thumbs up for !

Never miss out on their dry prawn masala.

Morsels of good eats that might cause you to blindside
the other meats on the table just to fight over this.

Be sure to keep the firm and fresh squids, for last.
Tear away to reveal the whitest flesh,
and savour it slowly.

After a torturous sit down session of shedding buckets of
sweat, tongue dunked in copious amounts of air suam,
table laden with well soaked tissues,
I'm sure you will agree that Jaya curries have got KICK !

Total damage : $23.50 inclusive of white rice and drinks.

Price range : cheap to moderate depending on your order

Location :with Cititel Hotel on your right, look out for an empty parking area on your left,it is just next to it,opposite Kafe Kheng Pin.

Chowtime : 24 hours

Tips : if you are eating in twos or above,it is cheaper to order separate dishes in which you can share and dictate exactly how much a portion you want, rather than to pile the various dishes into one plate of white rice (economy rice style)
