( NH ) Hokkien Mee, Lebuh Cecil

What I love most about Lebuh Cecil wetmarket, is the adjoining hawker centre, where prices of hawker fare is still so incredibly low.

My favourite Hokkien Mee stall is this one.

A short step away, in front of a Malaysian flag hung up on the roof. Nearest to the two red lanterns. Next to a small yellow telco booth.

This is how I like my Hokkien Mee.

Without noodles and without sambal.

Plenty of taugeh.

As this stall doesn't have much add ons, it's easy to take a short walk to the wetmarket and come back with a bounty of roast siew yoke on the side.

This portion costs just $5 for all that.

And for the grand sum of just $14 , this is certainly one of the cheapest but grandest ways, on how to enjoy life to the fullest, here in Penang.

Location : Lebuh Cecil

Directions : from First Avenue Mall's Starbucks entrance, that is on the same row as Traders Hotel, walk onto the opposite road where there is a small traffic light with oncoming traffic . Continue past 5 streets or so until you see at chinese temple. It is just next to the wetmarket.

Chowtime : 1pm-5pm
