I intially approached this street food sold on almost every corner, with much scepticism but was immediately blown away by the very addictive, eardrum busting, extremely spicy sauce . Yum ! Can't put it down once you start.
Since it was love at first bite, I got adventurous and decided to try out this threesome together.
Curry fishballs, Curry Offal and a variety of fishpaste items without the curry
Lungs, liver, intestines, skin, fat all slow cooked in delicious curry sauce till tender . As I am not used to eating lungs and the liver smelt a bit too strong, I left those alone but walloped all the rest.
As for this curry less version much like our Yong Tau Foo , I think we do it better in Malaysia. The brinjal was unsalted, the capsicum too, didn't enjoy the fishballs without the curry. The 2 pieces of deep fried tofu were excellent. The sweet potato in batter didn't go so well with the rest as the crust was already soft.
What I "gian" for . Dai Pai Tong curry fishballs . They're the best whichever street stall you get them from.
Total for the 3 items on top MYR 45 .
Yes. Not cheap.
You can get a smaller portion of curry fishballs for less.
