This restaurant has grown and evolved by leaps and bounds today
With 3 branches scattered around the major growth areas on the mainland, I'm wondering when they'll ever open up a shop on Penang island.
They've very successfully elevated the humble koay teow thng shop, into a modern cafe with the option to dine in airconditioned comfort
..or not, in case you prefer the old sweat shop treatment
Part of their success has to do with the generous portion.
Just you try to 'keh liao' on Penang island like this , huh, the bill will surely hit the roof.
Most likely , the hawker will laugh hysterically all the way to the bank, at your "please sir I want more" Oliver Twist request .
Don't underestimate the small bowl.
Underneath is a heck of a lot of minced meat packed into a crude ball , with tender, delicious preserved char chai that is not too salty.
All for $3.30
Added on a plate of cold chicken meat in soya sauce.
$3.00 for a one person portion.
So so only compared to the pork mince.
7 Village also offers a very interesting variety of side dishes.
Like this Dragon Ball ($ 3.30 ) for instance.
If I'm not mistaken, the curly shreds are actually fish paste also. So addictive, we fought over that.
Lobak $1.50 per roll. Two rolls = $3.00
Love the tomato sauce signature. Even if you turn it the other way around, it will still resemble the chinese character for 7.
Fish nuggets $3.00
For dessert.... pak ko tong sui.
Very pleasant.
Could smell the fragrant pandan from one table away as the waiter was approaching.
$2.50
