Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant,Sunrise Tower (NH)

If you've been to Korea before, you'll know how massively good their street food , as compared to their restaurant fare , is.
But airfare costs good money, so whenever a craving for Kimchi Jeon ($18 ) or kimchi pancake, pops up, I come here.

The obligatory spread of condiments( lobak sweet pickle, small ikan bilis, bean sauce, taugeh, watercress, etc) and salad leaves.
Kimchi is as expected, of any respectable Korean run restaurant.
Still incomparable to my former flatmate, Robert's Korean wife's recipe ( her kimchi is so addictive, it is to die for !!!)
Ah yes, I have had some good fortune to meet such people in the course of my life.

Seoul Garden is a specialist when it comes to spicy korean soups .
Delightfully teeming with full bodied, rich and very satisfying flavours
Don't expect much meat though ( tiny pieces only, this is normal as meat is considered an expensive luxury in Korea ) as it contains more tofu, sausages and vegies .
If it's your first time and you find that their fishballs are sticky and chewy, rest assured that it is an authentic Korean recipe.

Kimchi  Jeongol $ 40

Beef Bulgogi ( $35 ) ....
Will skip this next time
But if you're entertaining guests, the set up itself makes an interesting conversation piece

Step 1. Heat cooking apparatus

Step 2. Place raw ingredients on top

Step 3. The waiter will come to your table and help you push all the food into the liquid

Yuk gaeng jang $20
Must try !
It's a spicy beef soup cooked in claypot.
Enough for two persons to share even though its meant for one pax.
Struggled to get a clear shot as the soup kept on bubbling non stop .

If you're wondering why we seriously overordered so many soups, it's because my partner has an annoying habit of wanting to Up the rest of our orders, by having something better....maybe I should carry a meat pounder in my handbag.

Ginseng tea, hot and cold $5 each.
The hot one comes with pine nuts ! Awesome !

Beautiful watermelon dessert...on the house
So pretty, don't you think ?

Bill, not for the fainthearted
Compared to hotel and airfare for 4 pax, I guess it's reasonable.

Location : Sunrise Tower, 1st floor

Directions : from Gurney Drive roundabout, look for a Mc Donalds. Take the staircase on the right hand side of Mc D's entrance.
