Chao Phraya river cruise- Long Tail it was

At first, we weren't too keen on taking this river rodeo jalopy, especially since the waterway looked terribly choppy.

However, one look at the overloaded, overcrowded, Tourist Boat, made us change our mind.

Bring out the Long Tail !

On the itinerary was the usual stuff... the highlight of which, was the feeding of the sacred Giant Mekong Catfish with bread .
No pics as both my hands were just too busy !
Hah !

Something new noticed, is the marked change in the riverscape.
The banks are beginning to resemble a world class harbour with more condominiums and hotels sprouting up.

Also, this building kind of reminds me of Komtar

Furthermore, there are more and more, funny looking floating restaurants along the way, these days.

Still, no skyscraper, can challenge the original grandeur of The Grand Palace....

..nor overshadow the mysterious pull of Wat Arun, the Temple of the Dawn.

See what I mean by choppy ?
So hard to get a panoramic shot .
Surprisingly, the long tail boat took the beating quite well, and we didn't feel sick in the least, even though we got sprayed countless times.

Time for us to get off.
That's The Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel on the right.
