If you're contemplating not climbing up these stairs,
you really don't know what you're missing
The 13th century Golden Buddha, Wat Trai Mit's main draw, is worth
a mind boggling 20 million dollars !
Even in this small space, the ceiling above it, is no less grand
Directly behind it, is a smaller artifact,
the walking Buddha
Thanks to Richard Gere and Angelina Jolie , lots of foreigners, look forward to being blessed by monks in attendance.
There was a beeline earlier, this lady must be travelling solo.
Walk behind , and you'll see the gateway to Chinatown
Look for this row of bells
..... tinkle away to your hearts content.
No one's going to stop you.
The young ones , find this little distraction irresistible.
Sometimes you wonder, what is going on.
This Wat is a really fun place to be.
This counter is for those who are here for the obvious reason.
New robes for the monks.... pretty arrangements for the altar, all at a price of course
Something tells me , this devotee is not a local from the way he carries his pouch.
While didn't go down to the cultural centre, I did pay a visit to the souvenier shop on the 3rd floor. Be warned that one of the sales woman likes to give you the 'fierce look' , if you decide not to buy from her.
The staff at another gift shop, on the 1st floor is much friendlier.
