5pm at Sin Tatt Garden hawker centre - part 1

Well, well, what do you know, I come all the way from the island and surprise, surprise...
Transfer Road's, Malia bakery's roti man is plying his trade here.
Nice to see a few races lining up for it.

Never seen so much Roti Benggali put in an open mobile van like this before until today.

So what's he selling ?
 Freshly sliced bread....

 ....with kaya and planta.
Two sets ( that's 4 slices of roti benggali ) costs $1.80 in total

That safely in the bag, we move on....until we notice many people crowding around this fella on a bike.

Back to busybody mode again.
Whatever it is he's selling, I wanna try it out.
Notice how old the wood on his bike is ? He probably took over this business from his parent.

Hmmm....something you'll probably never find on Penang island.
Nasi lemak with blood cockles, quarter of an egg, ikan bilis, sambal, prawns, sliced pieces of fish stomach ( yes, really ) and long beans boiled in curry.

And how much does a packet with everything on it, cost ?
RM $2.70
Crazy cheap ok !
What about taste ?
For me everything was good except for the rice, a bit undercooked and hard in places.

Since the famous Jawa mee hasn't opened for business yet, gave this curry mee stall a try.
There are 2 in the area and I'm picking her based on her size, as well as her customers.

Ok, after this , I don't need to drive into Ipoh already.

Godamn it, they don't make taupok like this on the island ( it's blady good ), there are long beans, the blood cockles are fresh, the santan tastes like what coconut milk should taste like and most important of all, for me,it is not sweet, also the portion is really filling.
Only the chicken tastes a little like the former Tuapui curry mee stall that is near Weld Quay jetty.

World's apart from what's sold on Penang island.

Lady, I'll be back !

Location : Sin Tatt Garden, Jalan Raja Uda
