Strawberry heaven - Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands is a strawberry lovers heaven.  You can pay as you pick at farms or even purchase cordial juices by the bottle. Heck, they even have tacky related merchandise like pillows and aprons, as souvenirs for you to take home.

Bargain hunters like me,  on the other hand, can spend hours just trawling the area for the best deals. Fresh arrivals look like this when they first arrive at your chosen stall. Tell me how anyone cannot be tempted to sink their teeth into some ?

The whole lot is then sorted out according to size by the stall assistants

While there were some really, really cheap ones, some as low as RM $4, I went for the super duper extreme largest.
Look at the size of this beast in the picture below ! Got a whole box of it for RM $ 7 only ! The last time I purchased a monster this size was in Hong Kong and I remember I paid a fortune for it.

The difference between the ones you eat here on the spot, and the ones transported to your nearby supermarket, is , when you eat it, your teeth will look blood red as if you were a vampire.

They even have dried strawberries now but I think only the locals will like this because it's dyed red like that spicy ginger snack. Once is enough but local pickle fans will probably love this.

Of course, while not all of them are as sweet as the ones you get in say... England, nevertheless, if you're a Mom, I'm sure you'll love seeing your kids faces light up at the sheer sight of these glistening blood red beauties !
