Sometime back, Groupon had this RM89.50 set on the block. The Manhattan Fish Market ( MFM ) outlet I patronized , got so swamped by customers, they even ran out of ice cubes ! Not an enjoyable experience as chaos reigned in the quest to rush orders out. It was sheer madness ok ?
While I personally prefer Fish & Co , they have no representation up in Penang. Besides nobody else makes a decent Fish & Chips set , other than one outlet in Straits Quay and MFM . Thus , upon spotting the offer outside the premise , I made a mental note to return with this card, the main criteria for qualifying for the discount.
For RM55.90, this is what you're supposed to get. 2 iced drinks, 2 soups of the day, together with the Star Platter which consists of deep fried oyster in batter, grilled calamari, flaming tiger prawns, fish ( managed to swap the original version for deep fried dory ), garlic butter mussels , on a generous bed of rice.
Any complaints ? Yes, the soup though very filling was a bit too sharp. And the drink choice was a little off key.
But at RM55.90 for all that seafood, I would say it's worth it.
Available till December ...yes DECEMBER 2014. Some shopping membership cards are definitely worth it.
