This came straight off a news portal.
The fact that a 152kg grouper had been landed by local fishermen, again has gotten all local and international gourmets excited again.
To be frank, I'm outraged. Against the slaughter of a creature that took this long to grow.
Our oceans are already depleted as it is. Why can't you make do with smaller fish ?
It's a delicacy they say.
Expensive they add . Gourmet is the excuse. Libido, strength and other beauty booster.
Excuse me, did you ever sit down to think how much mercury is deposited in a fish this big, that's managed to survive against all the odds ? Only to be sold for slightly above RM9k , with intention to grace our dinner table ?
To me, it feels no different from a Safari hunt of old. Except yes, those beasts graced the wall.
By all means, go eat it if you have the heart because I certainly don't.
