Bolivian Cholitas and Caporales at the Pantheon

Can you believe this ?
What I saw with my own eyes in Rome ?
Cholitas and Caporales on parade. In front of the Pantheon . Yeah....This is really happening.

See the boy in blue ? He was actually very friendly, sportingly posing for a shot which ended up blur.
Also, he was the most energetic and enthuasiastic Caporales participant of the parade. Really gave it his all and totally enjoyed himself

Boys are dressed like bullfighters.
Girls don tight, frilly, sexy dresses
and heels

Originating from the Andean region , this is not confined to Bolivia alone, so you can also find these dancers
dressed in similar frilly tight costumes in say, Argentina or Chile.

Didn't manage to get a good shot ofthe very dramatic looking cholitas in white. Hope you can see them in the back swirling their big skirts

Bolivian Indians.
Thought they looked like Pochahantas .
The steps were a bit like a game and a bit more difficult. Involved agility with lots of twists and jumps

Some female shamanic dance ritual I think.

Short dances over and done with, the parade participants gather round for one last walk

Demon ?
Awesome !

Spot the vulture

The smallest of the lot.
Cute !

What a great way to stir interest in the country.
Bolivia is calling don't you think ?

Location : Rome, Italy
