There's food with showmanship going on at Pizzaiola.
And if you like to take pictures, this very good looking young man who looks like he just stepped out of a 40s glam magazine , is more than happy to look your way. Just don't overdo it or the pizza might land on the floor.
I know what you're thinking . Prangin Mall ?
You take a look at what they've done down here and then you tell me. When we first walked in from the carpark, I thought those orang bunian tales might be true.
Golden lights , spanking new dining outlets....
hey, this cannot be the same mall . Something's not right here.
There are 2 western dining options that look like they were from Straits Quay, 1 Chinese restaurant and a huge banquet plus convention hall that led me to believe that maybe a hotel had set up shop here?
Outer dining area of Pizzaiola
Frankly speaking, we were dumbfounded. The dining scene in Penang for local folks looking for new dining options can be pretty stagnant, boringly repetitive and rather sad. Even restauranteurs from the island are so afraid of failing here, that they'd rather set up new shops in KL .
Fake plastic Christmas tree at the corner. Ah, I expect this place to be packed during Xmas.
Upon busybodying further, we discovered that the whole floor probably belongs to the same owner as Cosmic Leisure group. Well, I'm really, really, really impressed !
The boss has probably travelled widely, enjoyed the finer things in life and now he or she is bringing all these theme like ideas back to make Penang much more interesting and livelier with prices that put others to shame.
We had to go in and try the food even though we'd just eaten. Foreigners might not enjoy it but I think Pizzaiola has hit the nail when it comes to food suited to local tastebuds.
Of course you won't get kopi o in this Italian restaurant. That's beside the point, the fact that there's a Malay lady assistant chef with tudung, one Moghul looking Indian chef in the kitchen, makes the restaurant look and feel really muhibbah. I like that.
Sirloin steak pizza.
What I enjoyed the most was the fact that someone out here in Penang , cares about all those who come to dine at his shop and wants to give you a wonderful experience at Penangite approved prices .
Now that's something I find so incredible . He or she is a boss that is not out to cheat you obviously. But wants to give you what they've experienced without having to take a flight anywhere.
Respect !
Location : Lot 33 Sub Basement , Prangin Mall

Wow! We didn't get to meet that guy playing with the pizza dough when we paid a visit there.
Top 10 Food Post 2014!!
The best time to catch him is during dinner time. 8pm if I am not mistaken. Anyway , nobody but us got up to photograph him.I would not have noticed if my partner didn't point him out. The show is held at the back , a wall away from the dining area
