This insignificant looking walkway is a small part of the original Via Alessandrina built in 1570, which was the first planned road system, in Rome.
Possessing a vantage scenic point, it leads you straight to the Roman Forums , the location rumoured to be home to mysterious underground freshwater crabs, if you're coming from Piazza Venezia
See ? Vittorio Emanuele Monument, Trajan's Column, Roman Forum, Via Alessandrina .....all within a short distance .
Walk away from Trajan's Column and you will surely run into the unmissable Colosseum.
Another attraction that's so easy to miss here is the statue of Julius Caesar along a rose lined path
Did I stop to smell the roses ?
No....lemme show you who did ( smell the begonias that is ) that in the next post.
Location : Rome
