Stroll from Riau Beach to Tumasek Beach

Some lovely coral specimens get washed up on Riau beach . He found it and that just amazed me but nope , not going down and have to endure a weeklong itch courtesy of the sandflies. Could have applied repellant but gosh it's such a sticky hassle so you go ok ? and thanks for the lovely er , gift of love.

Two beaches flank the seven fingers of the resort.
Let's go for a stroll from one end to the other.

Next to Riau Beach is the biggest viewing deck. Attracts the tourists from China. They're a bit loud that's all.
Did not encounter any problem with them , in fact most times , the spitting culprits are Malaysian and Singaporean tourists.

A plot of ginger flowers lay nearby.
Don't fret if some plants near the spice garden look baren. The resort actually harvests and uses them for cooking , while hibiscus flowers are reserved for spa treatments.

Decks near Riau beach are wider but that attracts hoardes of noisy holidaymakers.
View is fantastic though

Steam and Sauna Rooms.
Separated for both the men and women .
The dry sauna is really good. Try it at least once. I emerged radiant and pink and it did wonders in detoxing all the fried junk I consume.
Steam room did not make the cut however.

One of my favourite places.
Peahens and roosters will be here trying to feed on crumbs . But they're rather shy and wary of us and always seem to be playing a game of peekaboo with us.

Bird feeding platform.
Stay on if you want to see merbok birds , roosters , peacocks and squirrels feeding. The birds don't squabble unlike over at the Petfarm. Easy to miss, just look out for a bullock cart. This is behind that.

Pass the bullock cart and you'll come to this signpost.
Petfarm's on the right. Adult ,Cochin pool's on the left.

Go behind the Petfarm for some stunning foilage.
There are steps leading up a small hill too.

Acheh Lookout.
One of the best views.

Extremely popular spot with couples and the occasional women who manage to sit here first.
If they're young forget about wanting to sit here. Most will not leave as they're not staying in the water chalets and this is going to do it for them. Weekdays are a better bet if you want to get a feel of this spot.

Across from that , is a small spice garden. This straggly plant is the famous Tongkat Ali herb which is coveted for its roots.

New arrivals who don't want to get porter services almost always regret it even before they reach the tennis court.
My advice : Use them and tip them .
Pretty path but not when you're struggling with kids , a stroller and luggages

This lookout has 2 coconut trees as parasols.
It's called Author's Green and if you sit here, you will get some inspiration to blog about it..
Kidding...kidding

Weekdays it will be white girls backpacker types hogging the chairs. They lounge themselves here just relaxing and doing absolutely nothing.
weekends , the chinese , yes young women again.
These will be busy doing some paperwork ( what ?)
Just because it's called Author's Green.

By the time you reach Tumasek Beach which isn't very far off, know that the beach is cordoned off and used for exclusive moments like beach weddings or to cater for special request moments by guests with deeper pockets .

Walking along the rickety floorboards in a place this quiet might be unsettling for those used to talking very loud. It's as if everyone immediately senses the exclusivity of these platforms hence most don't blabber on and on but take pictures and leave as soon as they spot other guests of the chalets.

There , some of the best views can be seen from between the water chalets when the sun is blazing and the windsurfers are out.
The Tumasek Wing. Furthest out of the lot.

Location : Avillion , Port Dickson
