Valentine's Cafe - Srikrung Hotel

Valentine's Cafe is the coffee house found in the very old Srikrung Hotel. Located just opposite the Hualamphong railway station , paying diners get to use the wifi for free.

Since the area surrounding Hualamphong station is rather hot, dusty  and stuffy, he cooled off with young coconut juice.
Limited. Not always available.

Somehow I screwed up the close up of the Clear Tomyam , you can view it on top . Their clear tomyam is the bomb. Fantastic. Very, very good.
If you're not sure what to order , just look out for the house specials indicated by a Chef's hat. Nothing to be shy about. What we did anyway.
Fried rice with kale and a whole sprig of spring onion as decoration.

Thai fishcakes.
Pungent with slight bounce and spice.
A bed of deep fried basil placed beneath to
absorb the oil.

You must try this dip made from baby watermelon which resemble baby cucumber, sprinkles of pounded peanuts and sesame seed mixed together in an aromatic but sweet sauce .
Available on street corners where traders hawk deep fried critters like grasshoppers , you needn't always walk on the wild side with this restaurant version .
Really mouthwatering and very addictive.

Prices : not exactly cheap
Environment : ok bearable but definitely much better than the railway station
Location : Bangkok
