Update September 2016 :
1. There is no whistle warning issued before clamping . The officers will throw down the clamp and walk away before the tow truck comes
2. I know of two locations where they haul the vehicles to
- one is just behind Penang Times Square
- the other is opposite Marina Bay condominium near Gurney Drive
----------
Saw this the other night. A nightly occurence.
The Unit Traffik towtruck had pulled this vehicle out of a holding yard and was towing it to a second destination .
Even though it's not our vehicle, we're feeling a little cross since we won't want this to happen to us . No idea where they're headed ..whether they're actually towing this back to the owner or taking it to another yard.
Anyway, this is what the towtruck looks like.

Yep. Worst thing that can happen is if your car gets towed on a weekend and you somehow don't have the cash to pay the compound fine / towing charges.
Then you'll need to wait till Monday to retrieve it.
Before clamping, the officers are required to blow a whistle as a warning . Yet I have personally witnessed one incident in Kampung Malabar where the 2 female officers did not . Instead , I watched in shock as they threw this lightweight clamp near the tyre and quickly bent down to lock it up as if they were deriving some form of cheap thrill from that.
Quick google bears useless results.
All roads lead to MPPP's website which is a bit hard to find what you want.
Hence , in the following pics are telephone numbers for you to call in case you cannot locate any officers on the beat after half an hour.
First number : 04 - 2291179
Old article from Bernama , states that there is a 24 hour payment kiosk at the Esplanade . There are 2 other numbers listed as well as an email address to forward your complaints.
Second numbers : 04 - 2592242 and 04 - 2610182
Last number at the bottom of this sign.
Seriously do not know if this sign is up to date or not.
Better than nothing .
04 - 2637637 and 04 - 2637000
Hope all this will be of help to any of you visitors who ends up stranded with no clue or car to use.
I don't agree with the inconsiderate tactics of a few bad apples among the officers . Neither do I blame motorists for clogging up our roads since there are really not enough open parking spaces to begin with. And no , I don't think we should be forced to park further since that opens us womenfolk to being targetted by snatch thieves.

No body would tow your car until you've parked it inappropriately or you called a towing service by yourself.
