It looks like liquid nitrogen ice cream but is actually ice cream arranged in a mini hotpot container with a funnel for the dry ice smoke to stream out of .
Get it ?
Back to the basics .
The ice cream counter is tucked away in one corner of Pier 21 , directly opposite Dontonbori restaurant. Hope that makes it easier for you to find it .
When it comes to the range of flavours , the choices can be quite an eyefull.
Stand outs to me were the Redbull Vodka , Lychee Soju and Super Milk .
What the ice cream bin looks like
What transpired was this. The night before, we tried out one scoop because we thought that the dry ice was just probably a gimmick to sell an ordinary ice cream . Boy, were we wrong .... the Chocolate Brownie maigawd ....it was scrumptious .... and that was enough to get us hooked !
Hence we returned the next day for a proper fix.
To do this Bangkok style, you have to self carry it to your table quickly before the steam from the dry ice stops ... well, before it stops steaming . Of course you'll want to take pictures...but hurry ! That's half the fun. The other part is the silliness of it all. If that's your kinda thing, well, it still is for me. I like doing silly stuff still.
Last part is of course the sharing .
Repeated the Chocolate Brownie from last night , followed by Redbull Vodka ( ok only ) , Yogurt Blueberry ( yums, loved this ), Mint Chip ( not my thing ) , Sugar Apple ( ok only ).
My advise .... go for the chocolate, yogurt and milk based flavours....delish .
Overall a fun experience !
Location : Terminal 21
