Let's face it. After Raya , a lot of us aren't in the mood to spend and splurge.
But right now , a lot of retailers are giving bigger discounts than ever simply because Malaysians aren't spending as before . Yeah , we're being tightfisted.
Before the current state of affairs, we could never get certain deals from certain retailers. Heck , today , even snooty salesgirls at certain branded stores look more humbled since in some places, they are genuinely worried about holding onto their jobs.
Anyway...Ask . Look around and buy . Especially if the price is right. Take it.
If our currency is devaluating and stocks are not moving like before and money is tied up due to the GST , it can get worse. And if it does , imported items WILL get more pricier.
I don't need to explain how your unneccesary purchase or branded goods might turn out to be an asset which you could dispose of later if you so want to and you don't need to take my quack advice either. And when I say branded , I mean really branded. Not something you bought from a discount store. Genuine stuff . There's lots of fakes around . Believe me , there's a lot !
But if you like a second opinion, here's what I think. In the event of any um , negative developments, those items will be an asset should our currency devaluate further. No , please don't invest in gold. That's for the long term. To tide you over the short term , get good quality lasting apparels even shoes , electrical and mobile gadgets and hold onto them. Things people need to get by in today's world no matter how bad things may go.
They'll still want them and you so happen to have it. Should nothing materialise , you still have something you like right ? Cherish it then .
Unless of course you are one of those who oh so happen to have two point six billion donated to your account, then this of course would be meaningless bs to you.
And no , of course the above is not branded goods. Those shoes do last a bit longer . It was the extra discount that sealed the deal. We took it.
