Another way Penangites enjoy giant garoupa fish

There's a famous breakfast place near Sunway Hotel which serves this noodle. Very expensive for such a stuffy establishment , I tried it once and never went back again .
However, I do enjoy fish , every now and then . Sometimes when a giant garoupa is caught and successfully bidded for , the masses head to places recommended by the local newspapers. No mad, mad crowd for me thank you .

Prefer to eat at this place near the Queensbay roundabout . They're open for dinner and prices are more down to earth .

They've deep fried the fish to lock in the flavour and wok-ed it with thick vermicelli tossed in soy sauce and komatsuna , a Japanese mustard spinach that is widely consumed on the island .

If you hate salty foods then I would not recommend this to you , but we like some variety in our diet hence we've added on a plate of green edible amaranth, topped with good quality deep fried baby anchovies

Also having a melon soup just to balance off the salt and stave off the heat from all that super high temperature wok frying action

And walla....that's it. That's how we enjoyed our plate of giant garoupa .
You could play around with other dishes or just enjoy the fish in soup .

Location : Shoplot in the middle of the row of shophouses , Jalan Pantai Jerjak 13 , Batu Uban , Penang
