PLUS highway authorities have put up many Cow crossing signs along the North South artery.
When they first appeared , we being city slickers were left scratching our heads .
In the first place , how did cows cut across the fencing to get onto the highway ? Maybe they jumped across ?

Perhaps the grass really is greener on the other side ? Apparently not . According to this 2012 report by The Star with cute graphics by Izudin Ismail ( whom I seem to be a fan of whatever cute graphics work posted up ) they are drawn by the warmth retained by the tarred roads . You know , much like cuddling up to a heated floor on a cold night. Except in this case, our highway
becomes their floor of choice !
Now , compare that sign above with this below. Notice the difference .
Nope it is not an artist fail. One is a Cow crossing ( above ) and this is a Buffalo crossing ( below )
Water buffalo to be exact no matter how Naruto like this seems to be.
He thinks it looks evil. I had a good laugh over this.
Anyway , when you see this sign please be very cautious, as the buffaloes ( unlike cows ) can blend in with the road colour and you won't notice them at high speed . More so when it rains buckets during the current monsoon season .
The buffalo indicated in the signboard , are not the large species used to till paddy fields but a miniature version which you can find in herds near rivers .
Stay safe everyone .
