Update : Kindly take note . Bake Hokkaido and Hokkaido Bake are NOT the same company . Bake is from Japan . Hokkaido is from ....( will somebody please enlighten me ? tks )
*******
On first impression , I thought these Hokkaido cheese tarts resembled Portuguese egg tarts , which I don't really fancy . Ah , but since there was always a queue each time we passed this section , filled with enthusiastic locals and happy looking Japanese women , let's join in the fun and give it a try .
As the name suggests , this outlet originated from Japan .
What's so special about the tarts is this. If you love cheesecake , this will probably be your thing .
The crust base itself is almost as thick as one found on a quiche . While the filling consists of a cheese mousse filled with 3 kinds of cheeses ....mild cream cheese from Hokodate and Betsukai plus a French cheese !
For 80baht per piece , I'd say the price is more than fair .
If there was a purchase limit posed , I certainly did not notice it . Maybe there were less people and perhaps they only enforce it when the queue gets out of hand .
Really worth a try . More than once . A smaller portioned fix for the cheesecake lover who doesn't want to get too fat !
