Dimsum detective

We popped into our usual dimsum haunt this morning in Georgetown .

Nothing very unusual about the bill , the only thing we did out of the norm was to pick a spot in a completely different part of the large dining area .

What you see circled above indicates our pot of hot Chinese tea .

Teh kun yam or something like that , his favourite .

Much later , I had to rescrutinise the bill ....

...because as I started looking around this particular area , this wall of pictures caught my eye .

Now , this is a pretty common sight which we can find pasted up on convenience store notice boards as well as supermarts and hypermarts all over the island .

But a dimsum outlet ?

Really ?

Are people now resorting to stealing dimsum for this to be warranted ?

Sure is news to me despite the pics having been posted up since the middle of last year !

Honestly , I tried my best to see what they actually did to deserve being on the wanted list .

Wasn't very clear here .

...nor here ...wondering what on earth this burly fella took / ate to deserve

Coming to this lady .

Gawd she's so radical , it's pretty obvious she put plates into her handbag .

Gawd how fishy is her bag gonna smell ? Unbelievable !

The old lady below also gets a whole nine frames .

Seems she did a takeaway and paid but I just cannot see what crime she committed .

Last guy gets the biggest blown up picture .

Maybe he really ate a lot .

Isn't this ridiculous ?

Anyway , a few of the staff explained that those ( now famous ! ) folks were dishonest and either hid their dimsum plates ( in their handbag ! ) / stole / etc etc ....gosh , what have we become when restaurant owners have to turn dimsum detectives eh ?

As we made our way out , I told him he'd better not adjust his crotch and I'd better not open my bag lest we be misunderstood as potential dimsum thieves .

In the eventuality the situation gets out of hand maybe we'll even have to go through security bag checks , scanners and detectors next !
