Odd owls and other fowls

Right now there seems to be a steady rise in owl related merchandise that have made their way into retail shops , hypermarts , flea market stalls , they're everywhere !

Bags , earrings , necklaces , bookcovers , chopsticks , figurines , puff stools ...the variety is still growing .

If you do not spot them at a particular place , it could mean that yet another eagle eyed customer managed to grab it first . These items come in batches from wholesale agents ,who most times compell their buyers to take different designs . Thus in a clutch of 4 boxes , only one comes with owl prints .

Given the current economic situation , so long as they are not overpriced and there is no glut to turn us off for good , people are still snapping them up eagerly .

Here's what I found so far . Not just owl , but other fowls too , as I have always been fond of them from way back .

Daiso - Resting Owls

Some people are wondering what's the big deal about owls . Whether they're a fengshui feature and why the sudden interest / increase in merchandise .

The Japs consider them to be lucky , while some other cultures say they're not .

Me , I developed a fondness for these birds , ever since I was 12 , after observing a family of owls , up in a ciku tree , for 2 whole weeks . 

Fond as I am of them , I don't see myself ever rearing one gosh . Polyresin is good enough a representation for me , thank you very much .

Daiso - 3 Serious Owls

There's a white owl in the neighbourhood where I live. First time I saw it fly by , my imagination ran wild . Only found out years later that " the white thing " , was an owl and our pad so happened to be in the fly zone . 

Had just stepped outside when whoooshhhh , the majestic winged fellow turned his head towards me . Luckily my bedak sejuk covered face did not cause both of us to turn turtle . He must have wondered if I was one of them .

Phew !
