Wrigley's - 100 Years of Delicious Treat tin

Been some time since I've posted up collectibles.
And when it comes to tin series, well, that's what I love a lot . While the edges may tarnish over time,  I do treasure every single one of them. Better still when they come in pre war prints. That makes it a must have for me.

Uncle Jang , Vantage - bibs and tissues needed

A lot of mothers were dragged in here for Mother's Day and while I needed no persuasion  , I was rather surprised by the communal pojangmacha feel to the restaurant.
There is one stark difference other than the foreign workforce and that's the bright, half bibbed aprons hung on every chair

Cook Idea - Chai Leng Park

Before Cook Idea came along, we were all at the mercy of one super cut throat seller hawking this dish at Kampung Benggali.
Either that or we had to take a drive down to Ipoh or KL for kai see hor fun noodles.

A Siamese durian called The Crocodile's Egg

Found this durian in a pile beside the trunk road , sold by a trio of very weather beaten but very healthy looking old men. The flesh is like being assailed by Jackfruit shrapnel, then brushed by a tangy seductively swathe of fibrous artichoke,  dipped in a creamy corn treacle.

Nasi kandar is a staple diet to the Malaysian Chinese in the northern region

Here is my plate of nasi kandar.
Different shop, different specialities which they are good at.
Notice that the entire dish is
flooded with gravy. We call this " banjir " which means flood.

When it comes to this shop , I really like their kerang or blood cockles and the mixed sauce called "kuah campur" is very addictive , not too hot and measured with a calculated knack by the flick of the wrist.
Salted egg not as good as Malacca though.
