365km for Ipoh Road Yong Tau Foo - KL ( PF )

A several month long craving for KL yong tau foo, culminated in us embarking on this crazy food pilgrimage.
Rain clouds that loomed menacingly above, proved to be no deterrent.

A quick stop at Dunkin Donuts,Tapah rest stop, for some mmm mmm good,
turkey ham croissant and ice latte shared by 2, refuelled us enough, to continue our journey.

Finally, the former residence of a tycoon, comes into view and all that's left is to look for a parking space.

If you love being a big busybody, check out the 'toilet' in the last, tucked away dining room and you will discover it is actually converted from a large bathroom with a once upon a time luxurious sunken bathtub.

This is one of the reasons why it's worth the toll ticket and ALL that petrol.

Try sinking your teeth into these thick, juicy bittergourds and eggplants for instant  food orgasm.

The difference between yong tau foo sold in Penang is that the ones sold here, contain a mixture of bamboo shoots and dried flatfish inside the fishpaste.

Floating fishballs that bounce out of grip when you stick your chopstick in and try to catch them.

The simple, clear, boiling hot soup is a much awaited bonus.

Fried sui kaus and rolled beancurd skins, taste better than they look. 20 more rolls are chalked up, as additional take away.

The smell of freshly baked produce wafting in got the better of us and we selected 2 of these buns from the Seremban Siew Pau hawker stall located at the entrance.
I soon regret this,as the Mexican bun (the wrinkled one in the plastic bag with no print) in particular, whom the seller compared to Rotiboy,is OMG so good !

Goes exceptionally well with thick kopi.

But there's always a next time,eh?Just look at that steam...
